The Tennessee Theatre Educators Association is a voluntary, non-profit organization representing all phases of theatre education at all levels. What makes our work unique is that it is educator-led, student-centered, and equity-driven. We are not just producing events, we’re building a statewide movement that says theatre matters, arts education is essential, and every student deserves access to creative opportunity regardless of geography or resources.
TTEA, in partnership with Tennessee Department of Education, is working to create a comprehensive directory of Theatre Educators across the state of Tennessee.
Explore statewide theatre education opportunities through the TTEA Events Directory. Find professional development, student events, auditions, conferences, festivals, workshops, advocacy opportunities, and partner programs across Tennessee. This resource helps theatre teachers connect students, strengthen programs, and stay engaged with the larger Tennessee theatre education community.
Unified Vision: The Power of Arts Together is a statewide professional development initiative led by ArtsEd Tennessee in partnership with the Tennessee Theatre Educators Association, Tennessee Music Education Association, and Tennessee Arts Education Association. It delivers high-quality, standards-aligned training to arts educators in rural and underserved communities across Tennessee.
Through in-person workshops and virtual sessions, Unified Vision supports teachers in theatre, choir, instrumental music, visual art, and general music. The program emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration and equitable access to professional learning—empowering educators to improve instruction and boost student engagement, no matter where they teach.
This link directs educators and administrators to the official Tennessee Fine Arts Theatre Standards. These standards define the knowledge, skills, and practices that guide high-quality theatre instruction across grade levels. TTEA encourages theatre educators to use these standards to align curriculum, advocate for strong programs, and ensure meaningful, standards-based learning experiences for all students.
